Bees Industrial Services LLC beginnings date back three generations to Harry Blumenthal. He began the original business in 1930 selling rags, which turned into selling scrap metal, which grew to non-ferrous aluminum ingot sales. Harry’s sons, Al, Bruce and Fred, soon joined the growing business. In 1984, Harry Blumenthal & Sons hired Bonnie, Harry’s granddaughter through his son Al, to help with their newly created Plastics Division. Soon the name was changed to Blumenthals Inc. as a nod to the first female joining the family business.

With Bonnie running this newly created division, the company expanded to machine sales of both die-cast and injection molding machines for the plastics industry, added a repair division and bought a hydraulic company. The late 90’s proved to be a difficult time, so the business pared back. Between 2003 and 2004 the difficult decision was made to take Blumenthals and divide it up. Bonnie retained the Plastics Division, her cousin, Jason, took the hydraulic side and Al and Bruce continued their metal business.

Bees Industrial Services was created in 2004 with Bonnie bringing on two partners. One of those partners, Brian Nichols, is still with her today. Brian and Bonnie hired Bonnie’s son, Jacob, in 2012.

Partnering with Tempco

Tempco and Bees have a rich, long history. While still Blumenthals Inc, Tempco would send their inside sales manager to train Bonnie. Chuck Finch would travel monthly from Illinois to Minnesota. Each visit was dedicated to going through a different section of the Tempco catalog. Bonnie and Chuck formed a wonderful bond. He gave her the confidence to continue in this male-dominated business. With the help and guidance of Tempco and their fabulous team, Bees started selling and stocking nozzle bands. We quickly expanded to selling band heaters and then to cartridges heaters.

When Bees Industrial was formed in 2004, we downsized to just the three owners doing all the work. With Bonnie manning the inside the other two would hit the streets. We quickly learned that customer service was our #1 commodity. We also discovered that Tempco was our most important asset. With their updated computer system and pricing programs we were able to deliver quotes and other important information to our customers faster than anyone else.

Fast forward to today - Bees and Tempco have maintained a fabulous working relationship and a bond that transcends just business. We would not be where we are today without Tempco by our side every step of the way.

Bees Industrial Services is now one of the largest stocking distributors in the country. With over $150,000 of inventory in our Hopkins, MN warehouse, we typically will have something that will get any manufacturer up and running if they are down. We carry a wide variety of Tempco products including:

In addition, we offer machine cataloging and part stocking programs that entail identifying the heaters and sensors a customer requires on each of their pieces of equipment. We then look closely at which items can be modified to better suit the exact needs of the customer. This reduces the number of heaters and sensors a customer must keep on their shelves, makes change-overs easier and, most importantly, reduces manufacturing downtime. We can also make recommendations for what a customer keeps in stock, assist in managing that stock and store backups in our warehouse.
